Last day at work for 2010

Well I'm sitting here at work reflecting upon this last year. 2010 went so fast and so much has happened. As I write I am at the front desk of the resource center thinking about my past, present, and future. This year started off with not a lot going on but ended on a great note. I wonder what 2011 has in store for me?

School has been a bit of a strain but I keep on pushing and know that I will make it! Work has been an experience and I want to be a better student and employee next year. Work has brought someone special in my life and even though nothing will come of it, I'm so glad she is apart of my workday.

I want you to know, you are very special to me and I wish you all the happiness in the world. You have made me smile and our friendship is one of a kind. Happy New Year my Toshiba Princess! Thank you for coming into my life!

So here I sit with an hour and 15 minutes left here at work for 2010. It's been one good year and as always, the glory goes to God! He brought me here, he laid the path, I'm doing my best to walk it.

Happy New Year! I'm gonna make 2011 as best as I can!!

Merry Christmas

Wow it's been since Sept. 22nd that I posted anything. Well first off Merry Christmas and I have to say that God has been beyond great to me and my family. All glory to God!

I have been so busy with work and just haven't had the time or energy to come here and post on my blog. Ugh!

So since this is about my college journey, I will update on that first. I started my MGT 216 class which is business ethics and its an ok class. I have the instructor that gave me a B before but she seems to be fine this time around. School is a challenge since I don't have time to do anything anymore but I will be fine.

Well I gotta run but just wanted to update the blog and hopefully I keep it updated often.

I am a Phoenix and Merry Christmas again!

Update and new job!

Well I forgot to post but I started my new job at UOP SD campus as a Student Support Specialist on Monday Sept 20th. I am proud and happy about this new coming. I can't believe I did it.

I am in training right now and I am loving it. I feel so blessed. My creator has set my path and picked me up and put me on my way!

God is great!

I will update as much as I can.

School is ok. I hope I can manage my time correctly so I can finish what I started. I am a Phoenix!! Student and employee!! Oh yea!!

Ok so I got the call at 10:39 on Friday September 3, 2010. Katie called me and asked how the interview went and then said it must have went well because we would like to offer you the position!!!!! I'm beyond happy. I now believe if you want something, go for it and have faith and believe it can be done because through Jesus Christ anything is possible.

I was told the start date isn't quite set yet but should start around the end of Sept or the beginning of Oct.

This is a great thing that I'm about to embark on.

I am a Phoenix and now a Phoenix employee!!

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm officially employed by the University of Phoenix!!!!!!!!! I did it!!!! Thank you God!! You saved me!!

Well...

Round 3 of interviews consisted of questions. I answered a bunch of questions and do not have any indication of what is to come. So if I get the call I'll update, or not.

Interview day...

New class and new developments on job.

I started my History class on Monday. Overall it was an ok class. I am back at one of the campuses, stone crest. We have a big class. The last class is on my birthday. 37!!!

I got called about a third interview for the SSS job at UOP. The interview is set up for next Tuesday. I am excited to say the least, my dream job is within my grasp with my dream company. I just can't believe something good is finally starting to happen to me. I give all glory to my creator.

Well it's 5 in the AM and im tired so I'll check in later. Hopefully next time I post I will be employed!!!

2nd interview with UOP

Ok well I got a call on Monday for an interview today and I think it went well. The interview was at 2:30 and it was a panel interview with 3 people. I feel as if i wowed them but we shall see. I will update if anything else comes up, like a job offer...

Thoughts about stuff

I needed to put my thoughts down because I'm having some anxiety. As previously mentioned I applied for a position at UOP and had one group interview so far. I wasn't sure what to expect but just today I received a call from the company doing the background investigation and he asked me for the number to the last company I worked for. I'll assume that means UOP liked me and wants me to move on to the next interview but needs to do the check first.

So that is a good thing. I'm so worried because I have so much going against me. Nothing in my life has ever been easy and I don't expect this will be easy either. I leave it all in the hands of my creator because if this job is in the path he lay before me, than my job is to walk it and do my best.

I just want to put this out of my mind because it consumes my mind too much. More than just a job this could be the answer to me getting healthy. I know my creator is going to take care of everything. I love you God! Thank you for all that you have done for me!

I will keep any further word updated as I receive them. One more step ahead, two left behind!

Interview today...

I had my interview today for the University of Phoenix and when I walked in the room I felt confident about the interview. It was a group interview and everyone had a bachelor's degree!!! Wow, I was the only one without a degree. I think I did well and I'm going to stay positive about the whole thing. No matter what I am and will always be a Phoenix.

If my creator has this job on my path that he set forth, than I will walk it, if not, I will wait for his devine direction to move forward.

Something Cool

I was leaving class from the Holiday Inn and all the San Diego Chargers stay there for football camp and as I was leaving I shook hands with Philip Rivers, the Quaterback!!! Say What!! Pretty cool except I called him Ryan as in Ryan Leaf!! Whoops....

All to the good and I had a pretty decent presentation today. All in all it was a good night to be in class.. Go Chargers and I am A Phoenix!!!

So many things are happening!

Well first off, yesterday my mom called me and asked if I would go with her to the dr. office to see about some new development with her breast cancer. I'm hopeful everything will be fine, but if not I know we will all be ok. I have faith in my creator and know that through him all things are going to be ok.

Second, I got a call today from the University of Phoenix about a possible job!!!! Can I get an amen. I don't know how it will all turn out but I have faith and know that if it is meant to happen it will happen. I'm so excited and anxious. I am worried about my kids and how their daycare will be managed but as before, everything will be just fine.

I'm excited and worried all at the same time. I am a Phoenix!!!

My uncle Nick passed away

My uncle Nick passed away yesterday at 9:00 pm. I knew my uncle Nick well as a child and teen, but after my Grandma died I felt as I barely knew the man.

Rest in Peace Uncle Nick!

My love goes out to my cousins, Tim and Tina and my Auntie Kim.

Started a new class

I started a Religion class, REL/133. Overall it was a ok class, the instructor is a bit dry but overall it was a decent class. I find it interesting.

Just business as usual and looking forward to the next few classes.

Turned down

I got official word from UOP about the Academic counselor position and it's a no go. I think I would be so perfect for that job. How could they turn someone down so passionate about the whole UOP system and the way things are done here, how could they turn that down? I've delt with tens of millions of dollars in real estate and I could surely handle an Academic counselor position.

It is what it is and I guess somewhere down the road, maybe they'll realize what an asset they have staring them right in the face.

I'm down but not out!

Done with Bio/101

Today was the last class, or last night was the last class. I took a final exam and bombed on it. I didn't study and I might as well have been taking the test in Chinese.

Our last class was held in a hotel room at the Holiday Inn, IT WAS A ACTUAL ROOM, CONVERTED INTO A CLASS!!!! Need I say more!!

I applied to be an Academic counselor at UOP but they would probably rather hire someone with a degree. That's ok, it's their loss.

Well my next class is World religion and I'm hoping for a better class. Biology was tough for me because it's straight forward and conceptual. But its OVER!! lol..

did I say we had only nine people in the class!!! like huh???

Well I'm out for now but I'll post next class and let ya know how it went.

Just thoughts

Well I had my 2nd class in Biology this past Monday June 21st and it was ok overall. I am writing two papers but won't say anything more just incase curious eyes read this someday. I am feeling better about class and school overall and for some reason I'm finding Bio to be ok.

I will report back most likely at the end of class, until than peace!

On a side note I am starting a business called irecyclesd.com and I'm having trouble getting off the ground. I don't know whether it's due to laziness, or what but I have 2 and a half years to graduate so I might as well put effort into something that will help me and my family. Good luck to me and I hope a year from today I can look back and say I am still hard at work in my business. We'll see huh!...

Finished Ethics

I finished ethics class and I'm glad I got through it. I have been really lazy lately. I don't feel like putting a lot of effort into school. I don't know why, but the only change that has occured is my oldest son moving in with me. Maybe that is the cause, but I'm not sure.

I have biology next and I'm really not looking forward to that class. I'm optimistic to say the least.

I'll report back sometime during that class or after but I just hope the class doesn't drive me insane.

I'm feeling

Overwhelmed!! Man I just feel like quitting school or at least taking a break. I need to chillout this weekend and play some golf. I think I'll play a round with my son at Tecolote Canyon, I need to let loose a bit.

New class, new drama!

Ok yesterday was the first day of my new class, ethics in management, being taught by Mr. Rad. This dude is the dude and I'm so glad to have him as an instructor. He makes the dungeon bearable.

I found out I was awarded a Cal Grant and Booya!!! Mo Money!!!lol

Well yesterday was also the first day my good friend that was involved in a bad accident, was back in school. We had a rough start but I'm glad to see her face back in the class and her fortitude for continuning to pursue her education and degree. If you ever see this Elise, I'm sorry for what happened to you and it was good to have you back in my class after all that you have been through and go through. You are an inspiration girl! I'm proud to know you. But you are also a drama queen..lol..loves ya though..i got ya back!

Well I'm looking forward to this class and hope all goes well. I'm out for now but as usual see ya down the yellow brick road!! This sure aint Kansas!

Should be interesting.

Well this Monday should be very interesting. I am playing taxi cab man for school even. I'm not sure about this but we shall see. Ugh, why me!

I'm thinking about switching classes, this is beginning to be too much to do someone else's work for them and having to worry about it. I didn't sign up to do people's work for them.

Update on stuff

Well I finished my last class and I got an A!!!!!! I'm good!! I have an old classmate joining my next class. Her name is Elise and well, should be interesting.

Other than that I'm happy I passed that class with an A and my next class is Ethics in Management. We'll see how that class goes but all is well so far. I could use a little break but I'll keep chipping away.

I'll post on down the yellow brick road and see what the wizard mixed up for me. Peace

Last day of class!!

I'm sitting in class right now anticipating the end of this class. We have a presentation to do and a quiz and than we are out of here.

It is the last day with two guys that have been in my classes since the beginning, I wish them luck. See ya at graduation.

I'm thinking about putting my blog out there.

I may want to put my blog out there for all to read. It's been over a year and maybe it would be time to share. I feel so proud of what I have done so far and all that I have achieved. So I'll see what happens.

My nutrition class is ok. It is a bit overwhelming sometimes but overall I'm learning a lot. The instructor treats this class like a traditional university in that, he thinks we have months to study. Oh well that's life I guess huh. I will post when class is over and hopefully I get a freakin B in this class.

I'm watchin this movie called "Nothing like the holidays", it's good and made me thankful for my family.

Biggest Earthquake I ever felt!

Ok it's Easter and we were in Huntingbeach with the family and all of a sudden around 3pm I felt the earth move. I have never felt it move like that for so long. It seemed to roll or have a smooth shake to it.

Just thought I would share that and document it.

New class, Nutrition

I started a new class, it's Nutrition. I'm a bit blah by this class and the fact that it is being held at the Holiday in with a small room and too many students, doesn't help either. I can't wait for this class to be over. I will report after this class is finished.

The end of Psychology class and a lot of drama!

Well my Psychology class ended on Monday, 3/22/10 and I think it went well. I enjoyed the class but had some major issues with a team mate.

When I joined this team back in November for the math class, I thought I was joining the A team. Well math wasn't a precursor to what was to come. Charlsi became a problem and made it a point to voice her opinion in a manner similiar to a toddler. I was going to leave the group but to my joy, she has decided to change her class nights. I am so happy to be rid of that woman. She has major issues and I'm so happy that I don't have to deal with her again.

I'm excited to move on to my next class, which is Nutrition. I will post again down the road.

New class and update

I started my Psych class 4 weeks ago, so this is a bit late, but class is going well, the instructor is nice. Our next class is nutrition, so that should be interesting.

I attended my first new studen orientations today to speak as a student mentor and thought it was cool. I hope to someday be a part of UOP.
Well im gone for now but I'll report later.

Loving school and can't wait untill I get my degree.

Math 209 done!!

I finished my last math class for awhile I hope. I got an A- I believe. I'm happy I went through that class because I learned a lot of Algebra.

It was business as usual in this class, I'm on this unbelievable journey and I feel so blessed and fortunate to have this ablility.

I'm enjoying myself and not looking in the rearview mirror, just focused on the path that my Lord has layed before me.

My next class is Psychology and we get to skip a Monday and will start back up on the 22nd of Feb.

Side note:
My family and I are moving into a house in National City. We have a lot more room and can't wait to move. The rent is going to be a bit high but I know we will be fine.

Got news on an old classmate.

Well I got a text from Elise, the girl that was in a bad accident about the middle of last year 09. She was in a bad auto accident and lost part of her leg, well she is coming back to class in 5 weeks. It's amazing, when you want something so bad, nothing can stop you.

I'm in the home stretch for this last math class and I can't wait. I think I'm ready to write and the like.

Started new math class.

Started my Math 209 class on Monday and all is well. I have another 4 weeks of math and than I start my Psych class. Nothing new is going on so I'll update at the end of this math class with an update. Peace and booty grease.
